Eligible horses earned a combined $165,366.36 through the Valley Equine Super Stallion Incentive following the Open Derby Finals at the 2026 NCHA Summer Spectacular.
The Open Derby distribution was part of $568,000 paid through the incentive across the event. The Summer Spectacular payouts were made possible by overage from the 2025 incentive cycle, extending another substantial round of earnings to eligible horses competing in Fort Worth.
First Place: $35,216.91
Get Um Talkin and Kenny Platt set the mark in the NCHA Open Derby Finals with a 224, securing the championship for owner Robert Tregemba.
The Smooth Talkin Style* gelding out of Just U Babe earned an additional $35,216.91 through the Valley Equine Super Stallion Incentive. His payout was the largest awarded among the eligible Open Derby finalists, adding a substantial incentive return to a championship result at the Summer Spectacular.
Second Place: $24,498.72
Victoreyas Secreyt and James Payne finished just behind the winning mark with a 223.5, earning the NCHA Open Derby Reserve Championship for owner Kathleen Moore.
By Dual Smart Rey and out of Ginger Pepto, Victoreyas Secreyt received $24,498.72 through the incentive. The mare’s finals performance placed her among the event’s leading horses while creating another meaningful return for her connections beyond the standard NCHA purse.
Third Place: $21,436.38
Maccan and Cade Shepard completed the top three in the NCHA Open Derby Finals with a score of 220.
Owned by Khader Daoud, the Reyzin The Cash* gelding out of PG Katness earned $21,436.38 through the Valley Equine Super Stallion Incentive.
Fourth Place: $16,842.87
My Kinda Mink and Austin Shepard marked a 218.5 to finish fourth in the NCHA Open Derby Finals for Belle Terre Ranch.
The Metallic Rey Mink mare out of Jordie Get Your Gun added $16,842.87 through the incentive. Her result placed another first-crop performer by Metallic Rey Mink among the leading horses in the Open Derby Finals.
Fifth Place: $13,780.53
Red N Milds and Michael Cooper rounded out the top five in the NCHA Open Derby Finals with a 217.5.
Owned by Wheeler Dealer Cutting Horses, LP, the Metallic Rey Mink mare out of One Red Mist earned $13,780.53 through the incentive. Together, My Kinda Mink and Red N Milds placed two daughters of Metallic Rey Mink within the top five of the NCHA finals, with both receiving five-figure incentive checks.
Alll Inn and Cooper Clark earned $12,249.36 for owner Iron Rose Ranch. By Reyzin The Cash* and out of All Spice, Alll Inn added another substantial return to the Open Derby payout.
Wood She B Arising and Adan Banuelos received $12,249.36 for Ten/27 Ranch. By Badboonarising and out of Wood She B A Nockout, Wood She B Arising continued to add value for her connections on one of the sport’s largest stages.
Bomb Prooof and Cooper Clark collected $10,718.19 for SMF Cutting Horses LLC. By Reyzin The Cash* and out of Pipe Bomb Dream, Bomb Prooof added a five-figure check to the Summer Spectacular result.
Reebell and Colt Moore earned $7,655.85 for WR Diversified Holdings LP. By Metallic Rebel and out of Smokin Dog, Reebell was another eligible horse to bring added earnings back to the owner.
Dragon It and Ryan Rapp received $6,124.68 for Gale Force Quarter Horses. By Dont Stopp Believin and out of Hershay Kiss, Dragon It added another incentive check to the Open Derby campaign.
Splendid Splinter and Shane Carlon collected $4,593.51 for owners Shane and Ashley Carlon. By Badboonarising and out of Hot Baby Sister, Splendid Splinter completed the group of Open Derby payout recipients.
The Open Derby results show exactly where the program’s money goes: back to the horses that earn their way into the finals and the owners who campaign them. These checks came from funds generated through the 2025 breeding season, carried forward as overage and paid without any nomination or pay-in fee. A breeding decision made years earlier still carries real value when the resulting horse sees success at major events.
That is the full cycle behind the program. Stallion owners fund it, breeders produce the eligible horses, and owners realize the return when those horses perform.
