A total of $78,116.71 was distributed among the top 10 eligible horses in the Non Pro Derby at the 2026 NCHA Summer Spectacular, with checks extending from the leading eligible score through the final paid position.
The class produced three five-figure payouts, a strong concentration of results for Kristen Galyean and a second check of the event for Splendid Splinter. The Non Pro Derby purse contributed to the $568,000 paid across the Summer Spectacular from overage carried forward from the 2025 Valley Equine Super Stallion Incentive cycle.
First Place | $17,966.61
Kevlarr and Kristen Galyean led the eligible finalists with a 217, earning $17,966.61 for Wesley and Kristen Galyean.
By Metallic Rebel and out of Button Down Supercat, Kevlarr accounted for the largest individual payout in the Non Pro Derby. His result also began a strong run for Galyean, who had three horses represented within the top four eligible positions.
Second Place | $12,498.72
Pagani and EJ Huntley followed with a 216, collecting $12,498.72.
The Rollz Royce gelding out of Hoo Dat Cat is owned and shown by Huntley. The result placed the second-largest check with a program represented on both sides of the entry, with Huntley carrying his own horse into the finals and earning the return directly.
Third Place | $10,936.38
Xxplosive and Kristen Galyean earned $10,936.38 for Glover/Galyean Partnership LLC after marking a 215.5.
By Dual Reyish and out of Twice In Santiago, Xxplosive gave Galyean a second horse among the three largest payouts in the class. The result added another five-figure check within the same show string.

Audeycious and Kristen Galyean scored a 215 to earn $8,592.87 for Wesley and Kristen Galyean.
The Metallic Cat gelding is out of Button Down Supercat, making him a maternal sibling to Kevlarr. Their results placed two horses from the same female family and ownership program within the top four, while Audeycious completed Galyean’s three-horse presence near the top of the payout.
Fifth Place | $7,030.53
Smooth Talkin Sis and Trey Fricke received $7,030.53 after marking a 214.
Owned by Zipper Valley Ranch LLC, the Smooth Talkin Style* mare is out of One Sweet Sis.
Sixth Place | $6,249.36
Cover Blown and Daniel Summers earned $6,249.36 for owner Kathleen Moore with a score of 213.5.
The CR Gotcha Covered gelding is out of Shez Sinsational. His payout added another return for Moore, whose ownership program was also represented among the eligible horses in the Open divisions at the Summer Spectacular.
Seventh Place | $5,468.19
Splendid Splinter and Ashley Carlon collected $5,468.19 after scoring a 210.
By Badboonarising and out of Hot Baby Sister, Splendid Splinter is owned by Carlon. The gelding had already earned $4,593.51 with Shane Carlon in the Open Derby, bringing his combined earnings from the two payouts to $10,061.70 and making him a paid finalist in both divisions.
Split Eighth Place | $3,515.27 Each
Cashh Cow and Constance O’Connor earned $3,515.27 for J Five Horse Ranch Management LLC after marking a 209.

Hear The Call matched the 209 with Dean Holden to earn the second $3,515.27 share.
The Hottish stallion out of Creedence Clearwater is owned and shown by Holden.

Reys A Rising and Bobby Ray Hawkins completed the paid positions with a 208, earning $2,343.51 for Bobby Ray and Mary Jo Hawkins.
