Valley Equine is excited to welcome Roasting and Areybe, two exceptional performers owned by Linda Holmes, to our roster of stallions for the 2025 breeding season.

Roasting: Standout Performer

With career earnings of over $162,008 under the guidance of top cutting horse trainer Kenny Platt, Roasting has demonstrated his incredible athleticism, cow sense, and trainability in every performance. His exceptional performance record and eye-catching presence make him an exciting prospect as a future sire.

As a son of Hottish, Roasting brings a pedigree of proven excellence to the breeding shed, making him a standout choice for mare owners seeking elite bloodlines. The 2019 chestnut stallion is out of Betty Greyble, a mare known for her exceptional pedigree and consistent production of high-caliber performance horses. As a daughter of Stylish Rey, Betty Greyble brings a legacy of excellence that has shaped her offspring into top competitors in the industry. Her influence is evident in Roasting’s athleticism.

“Roasting is an incredible athlete with the ability to turn heads every time he steps into the arena,” said Linda Holmes, owner of Roasting and Areybe. “I believe his natural talent and versatility will translate beautifully into his career as a sire, and I’m thrilled to stand him at Valley Equine.”

Areybe: Unlimited Potential

With earnings of $103,342, also under the expertise of Kenny Platt, Areybe has quickly made a name for himself as a talented competitor. His combination of athleticism, intelligence, and style positions him as a stallion with limitless potential, both in the arena and in the breeding shed.

The 2020 red roan stallion is out of Stylish Play Lena, one of the most proven and respected broodmares in the industry. Stylish Play Lena has produced over $2 million in earners, including Hottish and Smooth Talkin Style, who have gone on to become influential sires and performers. Known for passing down exceptional cow sense, athleticism, and trainability, Stylish Play Lena has firmly established herself as a cornerstone of excellence in performance horse breeding. Areybe carries on her legacy with his own remarkable talent and potential, making him an extremely attractive option for mare owners in 2025.

“Areybe has the kind of presence and athleticism that make you take notice,” said Jeremy Barwick, of Valley Equine. “We’re honored to work with Linda to position him for success in this next phase of his career.”

With their outstanding show careers and world-class pedigrees, Roasting and Areybe are poised to make a significant impact as sires. Their time at Valley Equine will mark the beginning of what promises to be exciting futures for both stallions in the breeding Shed.

“Valley Equine offers everything I want for my stallions—top-notch facilities, expert care, and a team that understands the importance of setting them up for long-term success,” Holmes added. “I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Roasting and Areybe.”
