Valley Equine Reproduction is proud to announce The Kingsmen, a 2018 gray stallion by Ivory James and out of the legendary TR Dashing Badger, will stand at Valley Equine for the 2026 breeding season. Owned by Nickelbar Ranch, The Kingsmen represents a powerful combination of proven speed, maternal strength, and modern barrel horse genetics.

By Ivory James SI 103 (LTE: $220,026)—a son of All-Time Leading Sire Corona Cartel—The Kingsmen carries a sire line backed by more than $26 million in progeny earnings. Ivory James has sired 62 stakes winners and more than 770 race ROM earners, with offspring excelling on the track and in the barrel pen.
His dam, TR Dashing Badger “Dolly”, is one of the sport’s greats: 2x WPRA Reserve World Champion, 4x NFR qualifier, and earner of more than $800,000. Dolly has established herself as a 100% 1D producer with over $1.1 million in progeny earnings, producing futurity champions and rodeo money-earners across multiple sires.
The Kingsmen is also the maternal brother to standouts including TR Heavensilluminated ($456,833), Dollys Streaknbadger ($205,788), and NB Ladybird ($171,206), further underscoring the strength of this proven maternal line.
“He was bred to be great and we truly think that he is. His offspring are already proving to be quiet, smart, quick to learn, and smooth moving,” – Crystal Nichols of Nickelbar Ranch.

In person, The Kingsmen is correct, athletic, and light on his feet, with a strong hip and balanced frame. His foals are already making an impression, with first foals on the ground in 2022, showing the trainability and conformation to become leading futurity contenders.
Enrolled in today’s most lucrative barrel racing incentives, including Ruby Buckle, Future Fortunes, Cowboy State, Colorado Classic, VGBRA, Legends of the South, Southwest Desert Classic and WPRA PESI, The Kingsmen is positioned to give mare owners every opportunity for success in the arena.
“The Kingsmen is a well-bred young stallion with the pedigree and production record to back it up. We look forward to supporting his continued development and to seeing his foals impact the barrel horse industry.” – Jeremy Barwick, owner of Valley Equine Reproduction
The Kingsmen will stand at Valley Equine Reproduction in Stephenville, Texas for the 2026 breeding season.
