In a recent announcement, Smooth Talkin Style, Third Edge, and Hesa Dual Bet—three premier stallions currently standing at Valley Equine—will be offered at the upcoming Absolute Dispersal Sale of Teton Ridge, managed by Western Bloodstock on September 29, 2025.

Smooth Talkin Style has become one of the most dominant sires of the modern cutting era. With lifetime earnings of $305,284, he earned the titles of NCHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion and NCHA Horse of the Year, and he remains one of the most consistent and proven sires of the last decade. In 2024, he was named a QData Top 10 Leading Cutting Sire, with progeny earnings now exceeding $9 Million. His top earners include Storyteler ($383,249), Baby Talk ($371,086), and Playful Smoothtalker ($302,368).

Third Edge, a 2018 red roan stallion by Metallic Rebel and out of Lil Rattler, is a force in and out of the arena. With lifetime earnings of $342,528, he was named the 2022 NCHA Horse of the Year, 2022 NCHA Open Derby Champion, and 2022 NCHA Super Stakes Open Derby Co-Champion. Standing at Valley Equine, Third Edge has been thoughtfully promoted and positioned for long-term success as a breeding stallion. His first foals are already turning heads with their athleticism and conformation, indicators of a very promising future for his career as a breeding stallion.

Hesa Dual Bet, a 2016 bay stallion by Bet Hesa Cat and out of RJJ Miss Viagra Pep, is an accomplished performer in the reined cow horse pen. With lifetime earnings of $212,844, his résumé includes wins and top finishes at every level—NRCHA Western Open Derby Champion, NRCHA Open Hackamore Reserve World Champion, and Top 10 NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman Open. He also holds the titles of NRCHA Superior and Supreme Reined Cow Horse and was a QData & NRCHA #3 Leading Money-Earner in his peak competition years. His strong maternal line and proven sire, Bet Hesa Cat, make him a powerful outcross for both cow horse and cutting mares. His first foals arrived in 2024.
“These stallions have been an important part of our lineup, and it’s been a privilege to help build their foundation as sires,” said Andrew Waters, Stallion Manager at Valley Equine. “They’re currently standing here and will remain with us through the 2025 breeding season. Of course, their future location will ultimately be up to the new owners—but we’d be honored to continue managing them and would welcome the opportunity to keep them here at Valley Equine.”
All three stallions will continue to stand at Valley Equine through the remainder of the 2025 breeding season. Further updates on ownership and future standing arrangements will be announced after the sale.
