Valley Equine is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Sheila G. Spacek, DVM, MS, to its distinguished veterinary team. Known for delivering exceptional care and innovative solutions in equine health, Valley Equine is continuing to enhance its commitment of providing world-class reproductive services.
Dr. Spacek has dedicated her career to equine reproduction. Her primary focus is mare reproductive cycle management and the use of assisted reproductive techniques to advance the healthy success of future equine generations. Dr. Spacek also enjoys other aspects of equine reproduction such as broodmare care, stallion management and neonatal wellness.
Dr. Spacek is a native of Dime Box, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Kinesiology. After her undergraduate work, Dr. Spacek attained her masters’ degree in Biomedical Science from Colorado State University followed by her doctorate of veterinary medicine. Following an ambulatory internship at Rood & Riddle Equine in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Spacek then completed a Residency in Equine Theriogenology at Texas A&M University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Spacek to the Valley Equine family,” said Dr. David Ricks, Head Veterinarian of Valley Equine Reproduction. “Her expertise in advanced reproductive technologies and commitment to client education will strengthen our ability to meet the evolving needs of our clients and uphold our reputation as a leader in equine care.” Dr. Spacek will join the team of veterinarians that already includes Dr. Matt Parsons and Dr. David Ricks.
In this role, Dr. Spacek will focus on mare breeding cycle management, embryo transfer, and advanced reproductive techniques, alongside general equine care. Her addition reflects Valley Equine’s ongoing commitment to offering the most comprehensive and progressive care available, ensuring the success and health of every horse that comes through its doors.
Dr. Spacek is excited for the opportunity to work at Valley Equine with Drs. Ricks, Luvizari and Parsons and a staff of dedicated personal all committed to the advancement of the care of the horse.
